Training

The application of genomic information to healthcare policy is a new field, which means there are relatively few researchers with the relevant training and expertise. TRANSPERS is committed to training new generations of scientists to address the policy, economic, and access challenges posed by this complex and rapidly developing field. We have established several training opportunities, including a postdoctoral fellowship as well as funding opportunities for junior investigators. We are continually expanding our training capacity with our renowned research team, a diverse and growing list of advisors, as well as additional colleagues at UCSF and other institutions. For further information on training opportunities email us at [email protected].

TRANSPERS is currently recruiting postdoctoral fellows

The UCSF Center for Translational and Policy Research on Precision Medicine (TRANSPERS) – a global leader on the translation of precision medicine and other new technologies into clinical care and health policy – is seeking 1-2 post-doctoral fellows (start date negotiable; competitive salary and benefits). This post-doctoral position offers a unique opportunity for fellows to both develop their own research program and work with leading faculty and collaborators at UCSF and elsewhere.

The fellow must be a graduate of an accredited doctoral program with a PhD or equivalent degree in health services research, health economics, health policy or a related field by the start of the fellowship. Preferred qualifications:

  • Expertise in precision medicine or genetic testing; economic factors including reimbursement and coverage policies; systematic evidence review, economic evaluation, registry database development, and/or survey research
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in teams
  • A desire to become a leader in academia or other organizations

This position is federally funded: U.S. Citizenship, residency, or appropriate visa required.
