Les Benet Endowed Professorship

Join us today!

In conjunction with In Tribute to Excellence: The Pioneering Contributions of Les Benet, we invite you to join alumni, colleagues, and friends in supporting an endowed professorship in honor of Leslie Z. Benet, PhD, professor and former chairman (1978-1998) for the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences.

Benet’s legacy in pharmaceutical sciences

Benet’s influential career has bridged laboratory research on pharmacokinetics with advances in clinical pharmacology. His fifty-plus years in the field have produced over 620 publications—which have been collectively cited over 32,000 times—as well as 12 patents and nine honorary degrees. Benet is also internationally recognized as a founder of one of the world’s largest scientific societies, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).

Why donate?

Professorships are critical to attracting and retaining faculty members at UCSF by supporting their work and fueling their research. This professorship will support a faculty member in the School of Pharmacy who shares Benet’s dedication to pioneering scientific research and passion for mentoring tomorrow’s health leaders.
