Research foci

We have two major interests that fall within our overarching research mission. First, we aim to establish pharmacogenetic predictors of statin efficacy and safety. Second, we aim to advance pharmacogenomic discovery and validation in historically-excluded populations.

We identified a polygenic risk score that predicts the magnitude of benefit from statin therapy (PMID: 35862449)

Characterization of response to lipid-modifying regimens for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease using electronic health records.

Pharmacogenomic discovery and validation in historically excluded populations

A potential clinical consequence when pharmacogenetic dose adjustments from a traditional Eurocentric test panel are used in members of understudied groups. Examples like these have been reported in real life clinical care. (PMID: 36924260)
