Step1
Start by completing the PharmD application
Complete PharmD application in PharmCAS by Dec. 1, 2026. [see PharmD Admissions for details on the application process]
- Under UCSF-specific essay question "Why UCSF?", make sure to mention your intention to apply to our PharmD-PhD program.
- Under UCSF-specific essay question "Optional Information", include a Statement of Purpose. Make sure to mention your intention to apply to our PharmD-PhD program and describe your commitment to clinical education and research.
- UCSF requires a minimum of three, and a maximum of four, Letters of Recommendation. At least two of your recommenders should be familiar with, and address, your research experience.

Schedule a meeting

Step3
Complete the PSPG application
Complete PSPG application by Dec. 1, 2026. [see PSPG Admissions for details on the application process]. Please include:
- Current CV/Resume
- Comprehensive Research Summary
- Statement of Purpose: This Statement of Purpose can be the same Statement that you include in the "Optional Information" section of the PharmCAS application. Make sure to mention your intention to apply to our PharmD-PhD program and describe your commitment to clinical education and research.
- Letters of Recommendation: UCSF requires a minimum of three, and a maximum of four, Letters of Recommendation. At least two of your recommenders should be familiar with, and address, your research experience.
