Mentored Scientist Award Program in HIV/AIDS

Second Year Fellow, Chao Wang, has been awarded the Mentored Scientist Award Program in HIV/AIDS for his project titled "Fill in the blank: Methodology development for antibody detection during treatment interruption." This award was given to Chao through the Resource Allocation Program (RAP) with the funding agency being the UCSF - Gladstone Institute of Virology & Immunology Center for AIDS Research (CFAR)

Presidential Trainee Award for ASCPT 2026 Conference

Second Year Fellow, Michael Yoon, was awarded the Presidential Trainee Award for his abstract titled "Characterizing Adolescent Pyrazinamide Pharmacokinetics Using Data From Multiple Pediatric and Adult Clinical Trials: A Unified Pediatric-Adult Population Pharmacokinetic Model to Guide Dosing."  Each year, the ASCPT Scientific Program Committee selects the top-scoring abstracts by trainee authors to honor them with the Presidential Trainee Award. He will be presenting his poster at the ASCPT 2026 Annual Meeting to be held March 4-6, 2026, at the Gaylord Rockies in Denver, Colorado. 

ACCP Student & Trainee Abstract Award

Second Year Fellow, Michael Yoon, was awarded the 2025 ACCP Student & Trainee Abstract Award during the ACCP Annual Meeting. The Student & Trainee Abstract Awards were given to the top Abstracts submitted by a Student or Trainee, as judged by a team of reviewers. 

Best Poster Award at PSR Symposium

Second Year Fellow, Chao Wang, received the Best Poster Award at the Second Annual PSR Symposium for his poster titled "Cluster Analysis to Identify Biomarkers of Treatment Response Following Sirolimus Treatment for HIV Cure." The symposium was launched in 2024 to recognize and amplify the contributions of PSRs, who often work behind the scenes to drive UCSF’s world-class research forward, and has become a showcase of cross-disciplinary engagement and excellence. 

MSACL 2025

Second Year Fellow, Hannah Lusk, won the Trainee Poster Award and the Young Investigator Grant at the 2025 Mass Spectrometry & Advances in the Clinical Lab Conference in Montreal, Canada. MSACL's mission is to support the community in translating pre-clinical research to clinical patient care.
