DGL Hosts a Tea Party in Honor of Dedicated Summer Students and Interns

During this summer season, DGL had the privilege of hosting six aspiring scientists: Jiage Song from the University of California-Berkeley, Novik Thomas from the University of Montana, Sebastian Zamarripa from Johns Hopkins University, Deniel Giron from KIPP SFUSD High School, Isaiah Simpson from KIPP SFUSD High School, and Arianna Trammell from Bishop O’Dowd High School. Each of these individuals collaborated closely with dedicated mentors, delving into the fundamentals of protein design and acquiring a diverse set of laboratory skills, including gene cloning, protein expression, brain purification, and confocal microscopy.
To honor the efforts of these young scientists, a splendid tea party was arranged, graciously hosted by Bill and Susan DeGrado. The gathering featured a delightful assortment of sandwiches, cookies, and tea, all elegantly presented on charming plates accompanied by tea cups and saucers. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for their diligent contributions and hard work!
