Robert awarded an NIH K99/R00 grant

Congratulations to DGL post-doc Robert Newberry for receiving the prestigious K99/R00 NIH Pathway to Independence Award for his proposal Biophysical Determinants of Physiological and Pathological alpha-Synuclein Membrane Interactions! The award will fund Robert’s work on the mechanism by which alpha-synuclein’s unique sequence and structure contribute to its normal role in synaptic transmission and its pathological aggregation in Parkinson’s disease.
