What Becomes Available When?
This page describes for web editors in the School of Pharmacy the timing of what is expected to be available after creating a new page or making changes in a website built by the Office of Communications or after making changes in a data system that synchronizes data to our websites.

Changed pages are available after one or two hours
Our sites are affected by multiple levels of web cache that make our sites load faster. Consequently, after publishing a page your changes are not necessarily immediately visible to others.

For faculty profile data (UCSF Profiles) and person data (PeopleConnect), you can also request a manual update to a person listing.
Pages published for the very first time are available immediately
If a page is published for the first time, it could not have been previously cached (except by site editors’ web browsers), so after publishing it is expected to be available to unauthenticated visitors immediately. If you need to then make another change, then the availability of the change is subject to the timing described above.
If changes are not visible after the time specified
Clear your browser cache or try a different browser or device. Contact us at Website and Communications Support if needed.
